So the depth gauge on my 2005 Nautique 216 recently stopped working. It was working fine as I typically leave the display set to view depth. Then, seemingly out of the blue, it just stopped and the readout now just says 0 constantly. All other info on the display like air/water temp etc are working fine so I don't think the issue is the display. Pretty sure depth is coming from a hull mounted round sensor that is a little further back than the PP paddle wheel, visually it looks fine, however I hit some small debris a few days ago so it's possible it could have been hit. Fortunately no damage from the debris hit to anything.
I'm going to start tracing the wires from the unit to confirm they are not cut etc, but wanted to post in case anyone has seen this before or perhaps there's a history of these sensors going bad after a few years. Will also check Nautique Parts to see what a replacement unit will cost.
