    G23 2017 Fuel gauge

Anybody out there experiencing an issue with the accuracy of the fuel gauge, my 2017 G23 says I'm at 0%. When I go to the pump, I'm only put in 50-55 gallons.

I am sure that it goes to 0% early so that you have some in reserve in an emergency. I ran mine to 0% and put 57 gallons in, only 3 left. I would say that is basically 0%.

Yeah 57 would be great, but sometimes I'm only able to put in 50, or less....in a 65 gallon tank.
      That's more than a 20% reserve?

If you're underway, it usually reads like there's more in the tank. That's when it's most accurate. Standing still or idling is not accurate.

I agree. It always reads more underway. It must be the shape of the tank or something.

My 2017 SAN 230 does the same thing. When we're underway it always reads higher. Sometimes it'll read 100% for the first couple of hours.

I have a 2015 G23 and have ridden 20 minutes on 0% fuel at 25 MPH. This was not by choice but I am glad there is a nice reserve.

Took my 2013 G23 to zero last night and then put 55.5 gallons in it, so 9.5 in reserve.

I've logged my fill ups to track this error. At rest on the water, my gauge reads conservative by 1-5% for the first half of the tank then 10-13% over the last half. If you track if for a bit, you can adjust in your head. For mine, I figure actual fuel is gauge +10% as the tank gets low.

Though the stated capacity is 65 gal, I don't know that the boat can actually use all 65 gal. It seems it would depend on the tank configuration and the running angle of the boat. So, at the end of the day, I just go by the gauge knowing I have +/- 6.5 gallons in reserve to account for the possibility that the last bit of fuel in the tank might not be available for use and as a bit of a buffer to run back to the dock.

(FWIW, the lowest gauge reading I've seen is 20%....it could be the error on my gauge increases below that point.)
