    Ballast pump circuit breaker tripping

I have a 2007 SV211 and am having issues "intermittently" (the worst kind of troubleshooting) with my starboard ballast pump breaker tripping. I'm pretty careful about shutting them off when filling and draining - easy to tell when full and I make my kids wait to ski when draining before the next set - I listen for air bubbles under the boat and shut them off when drained fully.

Sometimes when I go to fill or drain my starboard tank the 20 amp breaker has tripped. I reset and everything works normal again. This happens occasionally and therefore I don't know the best way to troubleshoot. Connections look clean, don't see any chafing on wires etc....

    Anyone have any thoughts??

It's time to do some fault isolation. Looks like your pumps are fairly close together. Can you swap the leads so that the belly breaker is now powering the starboard pump and vice-versa? If the problem moves, it's the pump. If the problem stays, it's the breaker.

Good call Charles...thanks, I'll give that a try this week and see if the problem moves or stays. Thanks for the quick reply.
