Advice on 2016 G25 with issues

    Hello,

The first thing I want to say is that I have had 3 Nautiques and am a Nautique fan, not trying to bash Nautique just looking for other folks takes on some issues I have had.

I bought a new 2016 G25 with a XR7 550 this last January, started breaking it in in late April and then began using it late June. I will list in point form the issues I have experienced and then would like to see if others have experienced any of the same issues.

    - Boat died in the middle of lake requiring tow in because the plug behind the keypad was not pushed in all the way during assembly.
    - One bilge pump failed causing the other to send failure message to the system so other bilge would also not function, so when water got high enough the belt slipped and overheated really bad sending black smoke into the air from the antifreeze spilling on manifolds. I installed the new bilge pump and now it works fine.
    - The stereo shuts off all the time and/or switches inputs randomly.
    - Many of the fasteners holding the cushions are missing so pieces of the cushions will slip or panels will fall open.
    - The 110V plug for charging the batteries never holds and I have to keep opening the unit up to tighten so the batteries will actually charge when plugged in.
    - Oil was spilling out of the manifold covers and/or the oil pan gasket sending oil spilling everywhere, I mean everywhere, all over the engine, sides, tanks, all the way to the front.... When the bilge comes on we are swimming in an oil slick. I have no idea how one would get rid of all that oil without taking out all the tanks and even then I don't know if you will ever get it all out? They are pulling the engine now to get ready for the parts to come in but we still are now without a boat.
    - One bow speaker does not work at all and the other is barely working.
    - Some of the light colored vinyl got pink spots and some faded to yellow.
    - Blue tooth for the stereo will not work and there is a low hum from the sound system.

I am thinking I may have a lemon and am considering taking a hit and trading in for a new one and looking for advice.

Having said all this I LOVE the boat wake and the boat in general and would consider no other brand or boat. I would also say the dealer has been great to deal with and I don't feel this has anything to do with them.

No bilge pump error message on the screen? How did you get that much water in the boat? Looks like you had bad luck with that boat.

No messages on screen, just an intermittent blinking light on the button sometimes. Probably just over time from water off people or draining the cooler water into the bilge

          Bilge
          Fasteners
          oil leak
          stereo off
          speaker
          bluetooth

All these sound like they should be "one time" repairs.

As for the residual oil I would expect dealer to remedy. Gotta be a way to break it down.

I'd be pissed If this were my boat I purchased new.

I would be very upset about the engine overheating and the oil leak. I'm not sure those 2 things along with the other small things equate to a lemon in the sense that Nautique should have to buy the boat back from you or not. Personally, if it were me, I would really be talking serious to the dealer about giving you a good trade in on your current boat and making you one **** of a deal on a new boat.

For the oily bilge go buy some bilge cleaner and poor it in and swoosh it around by driving like a mad man. And then take the boat oitband drain it.

Quick question . Not to fuel the fire but Why do you have so much water it needs to bilge so much ? Seems very odd

                  Hi Lucky7t,

I was unaware of the bilge issue so over time the water just built up, probably mostly from draining the cooler of melted ice into the bilge.

Thanks rocket man and evening shade! I reached out to Ron Nance but he is on holidays until the 15th but Larry called me back and said Ron will get ahold of me as soon as he is back and will "make it right". I believe they will stand behind their product as they make great boats, just too many issues with this one.... I forgot to mention the Vdrive was also leaking oil.

I'd be rolled up in a ball shivering and crying if if were me... I hope that Nautique will indeed "make things right" for you. Short season for these monstrously expensive toys, so to have that many issues and be without the boat for a prolonged period would be gawd awful. At least your dealer has been good to you!

Hi DLafont, just found out I wont have it back until at least Tuesday night, nothing like losing a week at the lake prime time when you have a brand new boat..... I am rolling up in a ball right now.

Turned out one of the issues was a defect in the oil pan so the dealer (wizard lake marine) ends up running around on a Friday night to find a machine shop that will machine the pan and at 8pm they let me know the pan was on and they would have my boat for me Saturday. I can not say enough about these guys, they really do go above and beyond!! Will be so happy to get back on the water
