Steering question for 210 owners

How many rotations of the wheel port and starboard does your 210 travel? Had the steering cable replaced on my '10 210 and I get 2 full rotations port and 1 starboard. Tech says its 'normal'. I call bullsh*t

Definitely wrong. They didn't set the cable at the tiller to the middle of the cable stroke and the steering wheel centered. I bet if you looked at where the cable is attached at the stiller, it'll be really short on one end. Not a hard fix but, if you paid to have it done they should make it right.

I had these guys out to my boat for over 2 hours fiddling with it. Said its "the best they can get it without bringing the boat into the shop". Is it possible they put the wrong cable in? Too short? Long?

They need to do what wakejunky says. I'm not sure what else they think they could do at the shop versus a trailer or lift?

Seems like your on it, however for reference my 2011 SAN 210 is 2 full rotations port and 2 full rotations starboard.

So McCannLand, you have pretty much the exact same boat as me. If you are 2 & 2, and I'm 2 & 1, my guess is that the cable they installed is too short. Then again they werent able to get it to 1.5/1.5. Argh!

Update: 1 3/4 right, 1 1/12 left now that the marina f**ked around with it for 2 weeks. Said something about there being a problem at bracket near the rudder and that it was a factory defect. Boat drives and turns better now for sure but still no positive stop to the right, it just gets stiff towards the end of the throw. Best part is that while going straight my wheel is now 45 degrees off...argh what a PITA. Can I just pop off the steering wheel and realign? I see 6 allen bolts thru the wheel. Is there a nut under the 'N' centre cap?

Yes, there is a nut under the center cap. Super easy to pop the wheel off and realign.
