SV211 tower smashed in boathouse

So boat was going up in hoist and forgotten about and ran too high and smashed tower against ceiling joists bending and breaking lower tubes. Trying to figure out what to do next. These towers seem hard to come by for replacement unless real lucky finding a salvaged one. Repairs look daunting because of the lower legs looking completely unsalvageable.
Any ever have the misfortune of this happening?
Any sources for salvage or new SV211 towers?

A good fabrication shop should be able to repair it.

It could be welded BUT the rear mounting points on the legs are bent. You can kind of see how those tubes are out of round now. That makes me think the hole lower leg pieces will need to be fabbed

Quick update here on where I'm at with this. Was going to have the boat repaired down at New Dimensions Towers. Towed in down there sometime this January - after lots of broken commitments, lack of communication, unresponsiveness, and no signs of good faith at all, we went and picked it up in April (after it sat outside vs. in our covered warehouse for a better part of the winter). If you can't tell, I'm highly disappointed in NDT for this. On top of all that, we needed a new plan too.

We picked up a used tower from a forum member (thanks Dave!) and had it shipped from Iowa. Have removed the old tower and started install of the new one. We were able to line up the front leg holes and opted to redrill the rear leg holes. Will post some pics after getting them downloaded.

Has anyone ever replaced a tower with like for like? The rear mounting plates don't seem to contour the shape of the hull like the original did. I guess it will be fine but just doesn't look quite as good.

Back then each tower was drilled for each boat, it was one for one because there were so many variances between the tower and boat deck. If you're going to be re-drilling the rear mounting holes, it might be worth getting the area fixed so, that the holes are not exposed and/or cause for a weaker deck which might start spider webs.

The holes that need re drilling are an inch or less from the original holes. The contours of the mounting plate is what does not match the deck that well.

Have you considered turning it in to insurance? So long as you have physical damage coverage this should be covered.

Yes we've considered it. It has not been in the cost range to consider making a claim out of it. Originally, it was going to cost under $1K to repair and some driving time / gas. Since that didn't work out, we found a tower used, that still wasn't too much and can do ourselves. Because now that we're up against boating season, no shop is going to get the repair done in a fast manner, but we're calling around.

Glad to hear you were able to find a used tower and good to see that you took into consideration the actual cost before filing the claim. Many people just blindly file claims nto realizing how it will impact them later.

Mount the tower, fill the old/unused holes with marine-tex and enjoy the summer. Make arrangements for the proper work to be done in the fall.

Yes luckily no boat was on my lift but one of my children left the lift on after the boat backed out of the slip, and it went all the way down and back up into the boathouse rafters causing major lift and structural damage . As a result of the accident, I purchased the switch which was spring loaded that you constantly had to hold for the lift to operate

My neighbor had one of the older switches that would "stay." After the SECOND time she smashed her windshield, she had the switch replaced....

Yep. Going to change out the switch or get a limit stop on it. Thankfully the boathouse is totally fine except a little wood panel.
