    Wakemakers Panel Saver consensus

Well guys I'm throwing the 750# fatsacs into my 230. (I've actually had them in there a few times without fully loading them).

Do you run the panel savers horizontally? Or vertically?

Do you face them toward the engine? Or toward the storage compartment?

I'm ready to fully load these bags, so I need to know the best way to do This.

Highly suggest these as both of my panels got bent. Install vertically with the brackets facing the engine. Easy to install

They help but your panels will still bend.

So. Anything I can do to keep them from bending?

I've seen some with a plywood layer...???

            Great!

I like that. Mine already has a horizontal bar. How do people work around that bar to put the vertical bars in?

You need to remove the horizontal bars

Here is what I did when installing 750 fatsacs in my 17 210. Pictures of port side attached.

Installed the panel savers horizontal on engine side (only installed 2).

Installed a pin at stern end of panel to keep panel from riding up and "jumping the track" out of the c channel when sac is filling.

                I removed the storage trays.

Have had no issues with this setup which has been about a month now. Picture of full fatsac also attached.

I did a combination and have had good luck. I bought 3 sets total. I installed 1 set per side (3 bars each) vertically. I then installed 1 from the 3rd set horizontally under the vertical bars to reduce the bend.

I have an 06 but got u-channel stock from Home Depot to make them as long as possible and ran them vertically 3 per side like the wakemakers photo and have never had my panels bend or jump the track since.

I put them on horizontal in the G23 similar to MI_surfer. Vertical didn't make sense to me since the way the panel bowed was not going to be prevented if they were in a vertical orientation. Definitely an improvement.
