    Speedo Intermittently Working

    hey all,
hoping someone can help or may have had a similar experience

    2014 G21
everything has worked flawlessly for the whole year. Only thing I changed, outing to outing, set time to eastern std time instead of pacific time.
Last Wednesday, went out with the crew and speedo was reading 0.0mph so we just cruised the lake. All of a sudden, speedo worked.
gps is tracking the boat, long/lat's are tracking correctly
next day out, same thing hour in, all of a sudden speedo works. Few days later(yesterday) speedo working fine, drops gps signal for about 5 min, then works fine.

Guessing its it's a speedo puck connection? Someone on the boat joked solar flares, someone else joked Kim-Jong Un's missiles...

Just wondering if anyone has any other solutions...

    thanks

I have this same issue happen randomly and with long periods of time in between (like 3 months). Oddly enough, it happen again last night. I put the boat in the water and it did not work. I surfed a few (painful) runs using RPM has my set point and then GPS/Speed came back suddenly and worked the rest of the evening. Before it came back, I cycled power (via my master switch) several times with no luck.

We had no one sitting anywhere the GPS puck.

The GPS position was not updating and the compass/heading arrow just had an "X" in place of this. As soon as it starting reading, the compass/heading popped on the screen and my speed came in too.

      Any feedback is appreciated.

      Thanks.

Gotcha. I had to ask about someone sitting up there because that happens frequently. Anyway, you should start chasing down cable connections. Trace the antenna cable down to where it plugs in. Disconnect it and take a look. Corrosion? Loose connection? Check both sides. Connect it back firmly and see what happens. If this continues, it'll either be the antenna or the receiver that's going bad.
