1) What is the latest on the gel coat cracking occuring on newer Nautiques? It seems my boat is in excellent condition, but small cracks have recently been found in the gel coat. The past two seasons when putting the boat in storage small cracks have been noticed and now after 2 years a larger crack has occurred. It is starting to get me worried. I know it's covered under warranty, but the latest fix is noticable with shades (color is off slightly). I am affraid the latest fix will also show some discolration only in a more obvious place and larger. I also remember seeing other boats with the same condition. I recently saw an orange 220 with the same gelcoat cracks in a less conspicuous place. What's up?
2) Has anyone else noticed small wear type tears in your boat covers recently? There seems to be no indication of damage from forigen objects or tears near the seems, but one entire panel is developing very noticable wear holes. The color looks good, but in just a short pull from Monticello to Indy the cover is starting to fray around the holes. To me this is not normal on a 2 year old boat that is stored on the trailor and only travels a short distance to the launch a couple of times per week. The problem does not seem to be covered under warranty, but it seems to me it should be. There is no good reason for the wear. I will post pictures when I get my boat back this week end.
