New Owner with a few questions!

    Newbie here!

I just picked up a 99 Pro Air a couple weeks ago and been to the lake multiple times already! Love this boat!!! The previous owner took great care of it and it was originally built for a Pro Wakeboarder. Just redid all of the stereo last week. Put in a Kenwood receiver, Polk Audio MM6501 components, JL 10" sub, Kenwood 5 channel amp for the inside, Rockford Fosgate amp and Kicker 6.5s for the tower.

I did have a few questions though....

    Ballast:

It has the factory ballast tanks and electric fill but the pump power wires were bypassed at the toggle switch. When I unplug the jumper wire and plug the two wires back into the toggle switch (fill, blank, empty) the motor will start but immediately die. As soon as I put the wires back to the jumper it runs great. I cant wind a wiring diagram anywhere......

When filling the ballast tanks manually, it takes forever and almost seems random on when they start filling. I tried cruising at 20mph and had little luck. I haven't tried blowing out the vent lines so I plan on trying that out.

    Prop:

The stock propeller is bent and is causing a pretty heavy vibration through certain RPMs. I spoke with ACME and they recommended a 2160 prop (13.5" x 13.75"). I haven't seen anyone that is running this prop and was curious of the characteristics because of the low pitch.

Any help would be great! I am loving the knowledge of the forums!

    Thanks.......

Regarding the ballast system; your best bet is to replace the two aerator pumps with a single reversible impeller pump and new switch wiring. I did this and the results were much improved. The impeller style pump is self-priming (the aerators are not), so you can fill your tanks while stationary. Takes me less than five minutes to fill both tanks. I retained the vent controls (located below and behind the throttle) in order to control which tanks I filled / emptied. Parts can be sourced through www.wakemakers.com. I retained my factory tanks, but many owners have cut out their hard tanks and replaced them with bags.

Regarding the propeller; I swapped out the factory prop with an ACME 654 (12.5 x 15). Good balance of top speed and low end torque for weighted boats. If you are heavily weighted (i.e. additional bags) you may want to look at the ACME 480 (13 x 12.5)
