    Retrofit Surf Select

Is surf select something that can be retro fitted onto a boat that is capable. Say a 2018 that was ordered without it and decides to add it later. Just curious. I ordered my boat without surf select as I do not think this is a feature that we would use much, if ever. If I changed my mind later down the road could this be done easily? Thanks so much!

If you're into surfing, you will use it. There's nobody better to know if the boat is too fast, too slow, or on the wrong NSS or NCRS setting than the surfer. Being able to change that yourself is a HUGE benefit. So much so, that everybody that surfs with me asks for "the watch" as soon as it's their turn. IDK what Nautique is going to do with this going forward, but I can tell you for sure I'm ordering it going forward.

I ordered my 18 without it as well since I rarely surf. Dealer said that on the 18s it could easily be added later.

Right. If you're not surfing, then Surf Select would not be a good use of money. It cannot be used for Wakeboarding since you're limited to Bluetooth range.

The surf select can be linked through the dealer setup page. It's quite easy to retrofit after the fact. All you have to do is order the surf select remote and link it.

I don't think it's that easy. Surf Select is about an $800 option and I don't believe it can be enabled through the dealer menu. I've seen screen shots of the dealer menu and it's not there, at least not in LINC 2.0.

My dealer menu has surf select remote link option. So I'm guessing on top of the remote you have to have the linc software flash. Just because it's 800 bucks doesn't mean it costs 800 bucks.

OK, I see the source of the confusion. Linking the remote is *only* available if the boat is optioned with Nautique Surf Select. Linking the blue remote with the boat is not in the Dealer Menu. It's in the System menu. In the dealer menu, there's the option to enable Nautique Surf System. That's the surf tab system at the transom.

NSS unfortunately can mean Nautique Surf Select or Nautique Surf System. Related, but not the same.

This is LINC 3.0 which I don't have so I may be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure that what you're looking at here is the System menu which allows you to turn Surf Select ON or OFF, if it's equipped on the boat. If you did not option this at purchase time, you will see no references on these screens for Surf Select at all. I also have a toggle for Surf Select under a different menu in LINC 2.0.

The only way to find out here is to contact a dealer and see if Surf Select can be purchased after-the-fact.
