    Tower mirror mount bushing

I have a Roswell mirror mount on my '03 and over the summer, the rubber bushing between the mirror arm and the tower tubing completely disintegrated. They don't appear to make a replacement, but I figured, it's just a thin piece of rubber, how hard can it be?

First of all, has anyone else come up with a brilliant solution to this? I figured I could make my own out of some thin rubber, like an old bike tube I have. But I'm concerned it won't be thick enough, or stiff enough, and the mirror will still move.

Part of me wants to drill another hole in the mirror mount and tap a threaded hole for a set screw in there. Even with a bushing of the right diameter and thickness, the mirror moved over time when out in choppy water, or even just driving through my own wake turning around with a rider. Or, when it's got the right part and it's super tight, does it just stay put?

Thanks for any input you may have.

I had the same issue. I purchased a 2003 216 that had the mirror mount but no bushing. I used this rubber gasket sheet from Menard's and cut it to size. Worked great. https://www.menards.com/main/plumbin...4168678&ipos=2

That's a good lead, thanks! I'll see what comes of the other offer above, but that's the kind of thing I was thinking of; like a bike tube, but NOT an actual bike tube haha.
