Owned a 2003 196 LE for the past 9 years. Would always just drain everything and leave everything dry over the winter. Bought a new 2017 Nautique 200 with the H5 and wonder if leaving it dry is the way to go, or should I fill everything with Marine/RV Anti-Freeze? Better to leave dry or filled? Boat sits in a heated garage below my house, freezing is not a concern anyways, just wondering the best scenario for my new boat.

I agree with Quinner there are two reasons to fill the engine with antifreeze . 1- Freeze protection a lot of people just drain and leave dry . The idea being that if there is no water it can't freeze . I feel there is no way to absolutely guaranty all the water is out so still a potential problem. I add 50/50 green antifreeze in through the thermostat housing hose coming off the raw water pump until it comes out the exhaust . This will fill all the cavity's and mix with and water still in the engine 2- Corrosion protection metal will corrode after being exposed to water by adding antifreeze with corrosion additives it will eliminate the corrosion especially in cast iron engines . Over kill maybe but I like over kill . If you use green antifreeze make sure you put a 5 gal bucket under the exhaust and catch it during dewinterizing you don't want to put that in your lake.
