Try make sure you are going in straight you can end up going down the wrong way.
If you put the dipstick back in if there is still oil on it that means there is more oil to remove.
I did this yesterday and got about a quart out.
I'd recommend getting a piece of straight copper tubing and using this as it's easier to keep straight and the plastic can get stuck if in goes down the wrong hole.
