Direction of thermostat housing in ZR409?

So was a little confused today when I removed my thermostat to "clean the screen" as the manual describes. Beyond the fact that there is no screen....there is picture below which shows how the thermostat was installed (was done by dealer last year when winterized...which I normally do myself). The manual shows the thermostat housing sitting the opposite direction. I realize the most important part is the direction of the water flow and this is what I have not been able to figure out. Obviously it worked just fine all summer since I put over 100hrs on boat with zero issues, but I just want to make sure this is correct. I assume its like this cause the water comes from the top and then goes down into exhaust risers? Just wanted to confirm. Thanks

Thanks Scott, confirms what I needed to know...dealer must have removed the screen last fall and housing is facing the right direction.

Question, assume thermostats do not fail too often, but since cheap its probably worth replacing since I have a 2014, right? Just as preventative maintainance....
Also, does anyone else flush/change their DexCool AF every 5yrs? Saw that in manual today and was considering getting it done either over this winter or next, again just for peace of mind and cause I am OCD.

The other reason I removed the thermostat today was cause for whatever reason after I drained all the water, I could not freaking get the system to suck up the AF out of my bucket, worked like a charm this past Spring (and I did push the adapter down into fitting which pushes down the ball bearing, so it could suck it in). I tried to start boat and get it too pull in AF, 4 different times. Around 30 seconds each time. I always replace the impeller as next step anyway, but guessing its fried now. Didn't have time to pull it today after I finished everything else. Anyway, I poured about 2 gallons into hose behind the thermostat using a funnel. Only stuff I have left is to change impeller and both fuel filters....oh, and also gonna change my 3 ballast impellers since they started leaking water out bottom of boat in last month
Guess this summer I will buy something that will "push" the AF into the system since I am a believer that it helps against corrosion and is important
