For those of you that do not have your battery(ies) in a plastic box, what are you using to keep the top terminals covered? Or are you even worrying about it? I will be using a couple blue top optimas to conserve available space, but don't like the idea of the terminals being exposed to whatever is thrown in the compartment.

I have 3 batteries under observers seat...all are in the plastic containers but I don't keep the covers on it but am careful what goes in there. Maybe I should rethink that and keep the covers on...never really thought about it since no metal goes into that space. The plastic boxes barely take up more space than just battery and you can buy at Walmart for like $11.

I spray the contacts with a corrosion inhibitor. It dries like an amber wax.
I will find the product on amazon if you like.
It works other for exposed hardware.

This stuff is great. Dries as a flexible amber wax. Kind of like Cosmoline used to protect german cars' drivetrain parts from corrosion. I recently started using it on battery terminals instead of that sticky red cr@p. I also use it on trailer hardware.
