    04 Ski Nautique Depth Alarm

I have an 04 196 and the shallow and or deep alarm constantly go off, which seems like a common problem. I am pretty sure its the Gateway box, that I know can be replaced with the kit with all new gauges, but I was wondering if there is any other options. I do not need a depth finder for the lake I am on, so I was wondering if anyone has disconnected the alarm part, or the entire gauge without it making all the other gauges quit working. I disconnected the gauge and the beeping stopped, but so did my fuel gauge, temp gauge etc... I would rather not spend the $900 on the new gateway and gauges if not needed.

The gauges are daisy-chained from one to the other, so that's why the fuel and temp gauges went out after unplugging that gauge.
Im thinking the wires you unplugged need to get hooked up on the next gauge in line after the one you unplugged. If they were working before you unpugged the depth guage than they should still work when hooked back up.
I will note that I have not done this, but I am positive they are all daisy chained from one guage to the next.
I would personally try to get it working, maybe swap or check all connections going to the depth sensor in bilge area.

Finally fixed mine this spring after the first time out, after most of a summer of beeping last year, I had to get rid of the beeping. For anyone else with this problem who does not want to spend $900 on the gauge gateway swap, and does not need the depth finder like me. If you take the depth finder out, there will be two plugs that plug into it, cut all the wires on both plugs, and bypass the plugs and just wire the wires together (both plugs have the same 4 colors same color to each obviously) and you will have no more beeping and the rest of your gauges will work.
