My 02 has 2 batteries, 1 on the port side under the rear seat and 1 in the bow. I have 2 battery switches under the dash to turn on and off the batteries. I am planning on installing a larger amp as the kicker has lost a channel, probably the JL 6 channel for the sub and interior and later an amp for the tower. I am pretty sure the 2 battery setup can handle just the amp for the interior, but would like to add a larger power and ground wire to eventually accomodate the addition of a tower amp.
Does anyone know exactly how the current battery setup actually works??
Is the rear battery the starting battery or does the battery switched on handle everything?? Is the battery switched on the only one charging and being used?? If both are switched on are they combined?? Should I add a third battery in the bow with an insolator to it and the other bow battery and use it only for the amp??
Thanks in advance, I am just a bit confused.
