When winterizing an XR7, is there anything that needs to be drained? I am a little confused, as I thought I had seen something related to the heater needing to be drained, but that the engine itself is a mostly closed system. The tech did run a little antifreeze in the intake, but nothing specifically for the heater. I asked, and he said it wasn't necessary.
We keep the boat in heated storage, so the winterization is more of a just in case the heat fails and because it is sitting for 6 months or so. We are cold, so it does not take long for the temps to drop if there were a power outage, etc.
