2006 bent rudder

Hi Guys , I have a 2006 226 and on the weekend I hit something in the river and slightly bent the rudder.
The boat still steers ok but steering in a bit tight , and the rudder is now slightly rubbing on the brass housing on the boats hull .
Dose this need to be removed and replaced ?
if so could anyone help with steps to remove the rudder .

You need to drop the rudder and have it straightened. With a V-drive, that will be a bit of a chore. As long as you are down there, be sure to replace your rudder shaft packing.
