    Adding a ladder to platform

Hello everyone -- new to the site.
Didn't know if anyone has added a ladder to their existing fiberglass swim platform. I own a 2008 - 230 and am wanting to add a ladder similar to what they put on todays G Series. I know the G has reiforcement under the fiberglass to support the ladder where mine doesn't. I'm in the process of replacing the gray decking with seadek so now is the time to do it if I feel I won't hurt the structure of the platform. What I'm considering doing was mitering out on the top side 1/8" rectangle sections and insert 1/8 aluminum plate and fiberglassing it in. These plates would run the same direction as the mounting surface of the ladder. I would then through bolt it with counter sink stainless bolts to make everything flush then lay the seadek over the top. I'm concerned what the center material is of these platforms and if its just honeycomb type material with limited meat to bolt anything too. My other question would be if it would create any drag when coming out of the hole and the boat planning out. I know when the boats are ballasted out the swim platform is usually under the water anyway so I'm thinking i wouldn't effect it. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Wanted to make sure there wasn't anyone out there that has added a ladder per the post prior.
    Thanks!

I think the reinforcement idea would probably work, but a ladder on a 230 would definitely affect the surf wave at surf speeds if its dragging in the water. Probably not so much at wakeboard speed. But I personally wouldn't do it.

Cheap alternative: If we are out with someone who needs a ladder, we will attach a ski handle to the grab bar on the transom just above the platform, then dangle the ski handle over the platform into the water. Ski handle is usually perfect depth to be used as a step.

Here’s a link from someone that added a ladder.
It’s a different year Nautique but has some good info.
I have the factory installed ladder, I don’t use it often but it’s very practical to have it when someone needs it.
Also, it’s out of the water at surf speeds, no impact to the wave at all.

Thank you all for the feedback, never really thought of a rope ladder, good idea! We at times boat with individuals that a ladder is very useful and the fact we have to trailer our boat, it makes it nice loading when on the ramp sitting on the trailer. Thanks again. I may go ahead and attach the ladder and if it drags I'll remove it. I'm pretty sure I can buy the OEM current ladder on Amazon. It's made by Gerlick and is considerably less money.
