My low fuel alarm was ringing constantly in my 06 226. I fixed this by adding gasoline to the tank. I also had numerous small problems with my new boat, including decreased top speed, decreased RPMs. My dealer is 60 miles away. (dealer is on a lake) So I simply brought the boat to the lake, kidnapped a mechanic and made him ride with me to show him the problem. He fixed it right there in the boat (spark plug wire disconnect) and good as new. Now that is service.

Well after bringing the boat back from the dealer, the depth finder & computer issue seem to be fixed. Not exactly sure why it was limiting throttle, but they feel it had to do with the TPS sensor / computer. A reset seemed to have fixed this issue.

So the boat is now what it should have been in the first place... some time and money down the drain to get her fixed up seem to have been worth it at least for the weekend. Hopefully this issue won't come back in the future.

Thanks to those that have contributed to this thread regarding CC service.. and I do apologize if my thread came across as hostile in any way as I'm sure you all can relate in some way.

These dealers want to get out and enjoy the water with their familites too. Are they not allowed to?
Car dealerships do offer loaner vehicles while servicing. My buddy drove around a BMW 330i around for a week while his m3 was in for repairs. All at no cost to him. A loaner boat would have been a little excessive in this case (and I'm sure this doesn't happen at all with boat dealerships).

My only request was to receive new boat in working order (basically, getting what you are paying for). If the depth finder breaks again 6 months from now then I wouldn't expect the dealer to go out of their way.. or pay for any expenses on getting the boat to them. So I do feel you misunderstood a little of my expectations. Needless to say, the problem is resolved and I'm hoping my brother won't have any more problems. If so I'm sure I'll be on here whining again.

A computer reset fixed the problem? Simply disconnecting the battery for several minutes would have done the same thing and saved a trip to the dealer. Sort of like powering off/on your PC to fix a problem.

Ahh the famous battery trick. If that is all the boat needed then I'm surprised the dealer didn't recommend that first! However, the boat would have still been in for the depth finder problem...
