2018 G23 GoPro Option - Does it work?

I have a 2018 G23 with the GoPro dual remote mount and dash control option. I am using a Hero 5 Black camera with the latest firmware installed. I can configure the G23 to recognize the GoPro and even control it. But when I power down the GoPro and try to use it another time it can't be found by the G23. The only remedy is to delete the connections on both G23 and GoPro and reconfigure the G23 to see it again. But after powering off the GoPro the G23 loses the ability to reconnect and control the GoPro.

My GoPro works fine with my smart remote and the GoPro App on my phone.

Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone have it working? If so what GoPro are you using? Thanks!

I have no experience to help you but I can say I find Go Pro connectivity to be one of the more unreliable technologies I use on a regular basis. Constantly dropping connection from my phone etc. Great camera but not perfect by a long shot.

Gregg did you have to do anything special to get your linc system to recognize the camera? I have a Gopro hero 6 and I cannot get the boat to find the camera when searching for a new gopro camera....not sure if you had to do anything in particular? Thanks for the help!

I have not found a solution to have my GoPro be controlled by LINC in my 2018 G23. I am using the GoPro remote to control my Hero 5 camera.

I having the same issues, 2018 G23, Hero 6. I noticed i had to change the wifi band to 2.4ghz from 5 in order for the boat to recognize it, but it still won't connect. Let me know if you guys come up with a solution ... you'd think there's enough of us now that they should look into it

Same here. 2018 G23 and GoPro 6. After switching to 2.4ghz band I see the camera but can't get it connected.

I must be the lone person who can get this to work. Used it again tonight. Strange all the problems this is causing for everyone.

jharris, When you get a moment would you please publish the type of GoPro camera you are using, the firmware version, and the Linc Software version? I would love to understand what combination works. The Linc Software version can be found in the System Info Screen on the Preferences Menu. Thanks in advance!

I have found that I power off the boat, and begin the GoPro initialization using the 2.4GHz Wifi band with the GoPro in Connect to a new device mode that I can see the camera and configure it to work with Linc. But the first time the camera or boat is powered off the connection cannot be reestablished without deleting the configuration and starting from scratch again. We video every surf session using the Smart Remote, so I would love to get this to work with Linc so that I can use the auto start/stop feature. Thanks!

I’m out of the country until late next week. When I get back I’ll try to document everything and the steps I take. Hopefully the bug effecting most others GoPro connection doesn’t hit me before then.

This GoPro connection to the Linc system is a joke. I would hope by now the sounding board of this forum with complaints has woken up Nautique as to the countless issues experienced by their customer base.

OK I took some pictures that show what version link software and what version GoPro software I am using. I only had an issue one day when the preview screen wasn't working every other time it worked just fine.

The basic process I follow is to start the boat, turn on the GoPro, turn on the wireless for the GoPro, then select the GoPro on the Link Screen. It usually takes 10-15 seconds then to connect and we are good to go.

Let me know if you want to know anything else about my setup.

                            Jeff

My dealer tried to connect my go pro 6 on several boats. Even the latest the firmware from march didn't work. Looks like things only work with the go pro 4.
