    1999 horn replacement

I own a 1999 Masters Ski Nautique. Does anyone out there know how to access the horn. My horn stopped blowing, and seems to draw a lot of amps, to the point where it shuts down the perfect pass. I know there is an adjustment screw on these horns, but I cannot seem to find the screw. I know the horn is located in the starboard vent, but how the heck do you work on this horn? :?: Your opinion's would be greatly appreciated.

You MIGHT have to pull the windsheild and then pull the vent cover to access the horn. I believe that is what is required on my '93 SN that has the horn in the vent box.

On a 1999 Ski, The horns are visible if you look into the starboard vent. This vent is located in front of the windshield. I do not think there is a need to remove the windshield, but my problem is how do you access and remove the horns for repair or replacement in the vent passage? By the response I am getting to this post, it seems like no one has any experience with this problem. Maybe it is time to call CC or my dealer.

My horn does not work in my 1999 SAN. Which, for me is fine, because I think they sound like a bicycle horn. My 90 and my 92 sounded like foghorns. They should have left them old style.........

          Dan:

I believe the vent is at the base of the windsheild. Are you looking into the vent at this point (i.e. base of windsheild) to see the horn? If you look under the dash of the boat, you should be able to see the air box and find the vent hose going into the bilge. The hose is probably behind the drivers kick panel. The air box probably runs the width of the boat with one hose. Or, it has two seperate air boxes with two hoses going into the bilge. So look at the air boxes. Does the one with the horn have an access panel? If not, then you access the horn by removing the windsheild (and possible a vent cover under the windsheild) to gain access to the horn. This is the way it is done on my '93SN. The '99SN is a little different, so your mileage may vary. I know it is hard to believe that you would have to remove the windsheild to access the horn, but it may just be so.

And, I am not sure I understand your statement that no one has any experience with this problem as I have now told you twice how to access the horn.
