What are your opinions on the best place to advertise your boat for sale? Obviously PN is at the top of the list (!), but what other sites do people look at and have used? Here is my take on a few:
- PN - Good to sell your boat to other Nautique people, but if you may not know you want a Nautique when you start out looking and may never find what we list. Upside - it's free and you reach a lot of Nautique owners.
- Craiglist - It's free, but I've found it not good when you are selling a premium product. I troll Craiglist and have found some good, premium finds but I've always found it to be less useful when you are asking for a strong price for a premium product. Lots of scams related to Craiglist too. It's frustrating...but I guess you get what you pay for.
- OnlyInboards - I have my boat listed on this site currently. I don't have much feedback to offer yet. I think I spent about $75 for this...that's not too bad.
- BoatTrader - I looked at this site because I've used AutoTrader a lot (no idea if they are related) and they did not even have a drop down filter that would apply to our types of boat. When I searched, I did not see much either. The cost also seems very high. You need to spend $150 to get a reasonable listing and really need to spend $200 to get something that will get traffic.
Thoughts?
