Help Needed with Cradle Bunk Setup on 2018 G23

Hello all - I have a 2018 G23 on order. I need to adjust the bunks or runners on my cradle to hold the boat. I have a picture of a trailer. I was wondering if anyone had any pictures of how their cradle is set up in their boat house. Any pics/advise/measurements would be helpful, thank you!

I don't have any measurements but here is my new cradle and lift after i purchased my G23

To note, I went from 2 bearings to 3 bearings on the pipe and chose the pillow stack design bearings which cost a little more, but they were well worth the investment. The lift is much smoother with 3 bearing vs prior 2 bearings while it lifts the boat. I also chose the double stack stern steel cross beam which helps protect the prop should someone happen to drive the boat too far up on the cradle; the prop clears the steel beam . Not that my lift is any better than other folks, just thought someone may get some design ideas from my pictures.

Not sure exactly what you're after. As far as width goes, just measure the bunk width on the trailer and set the lift to be the same. It's almost for sure 32 inches inside-to-inside.

The other consideration is the bunk boards themselves. When I had my lift upgraded to 6000 pounds, we also ran 2x12 bunk boards to give room for the tracking fins on the 230. Now the G23 only has one fin instead of three so this may not be an issue for you.

I am worried about the height on the bunks. I think I need to get taller risers for them. I don't want to smack the tracking fin.

Maybe. Before you do that, do some careful measuring to find out where the fin will sit. Ideally, it'll be right between a couple of those rails. Once you know the measurement, it's just a matter of making sure the boat is sitting in the same place front-to-back every time. For example, I know my boat is in the right spot when the fuel door is lined up with the lift cable. You'll have to figure out what your gauge is and stick with that every time.

Charles's point is correct but if you have different folks driving the boat like ie. "18-22 year old adults with "marshmellow brains" you probally want to make sure the boat clears the cross beams completely regardless of the location the boat sits on the cradle. You will sleep better at night know that the tracking fin just did not go through your hull when someone else lifted your boat up in your absence. I designed my cradle with this in mind because I have heard this horror story from other folks.

Unfortunately I dont have the heights of the steel cross beam cradle but the height of the wooden bunks are 10 inches (two 2 x 10 boards on each bunk for stability) which leaves enough room for the clearance of the hull tracking fin regardless of where the boat is placed on the cradle. This picture should help you visualize the clearence.

I would say by eyeballing....that the steel adds about 4-5"....so guess is 14-15" from top of steel to top of bunks clearance. Know the fins are not that deep, but the hull cuts into that some too. You should call dealer and ask him to measure one on showroom floor and then add 25% to give you a cushion, so if 9", do at least 12"
