So today I became adventurous, wanting to do some customizing, so I opened up the kick panel. Lucky I did because the black box bracket was loose and it would have fallen out on the next roller. I am investigating the possibility of putting some cutoff switched on the ballast pumps so we can drain and fill each tank independently for surfing and tuning the wake in general.
It's pretty much a giant mess in there, but i took some time to look things over, mainly how the battery switches work and where to maybe get power from for an amp and where the ballast wires might be. Below is a picture of how I think the battery switches work. They seem to have a main bar in between and the center wire is coming from the starter /alternator. So basically there are two independent batteries that can each power the entire boat, makes sense, but I really did not know.
If I am wrong on the diagram, can someone help me out??
I had expected to maybe see a power bus or a set of relays controlled by the dash pod, instead I see a black box.
So the black box has a monster wiring harness sticking in it, power terminals, and breakers appropriately labeled. It looks like the power terminals are shared for some other applications as there 3 sets of wires on them. Do these common terminals supply the whole dash?? Are there any relays under there?? Does the black box have all the relays in it?? Is there a main ground bus under there some place??
Basically I am just trying to find the 6 ballast power leads so I can put some remote switches on them and make a little panel to control them. I have the 01 and 03-05 wiring diagrams, but no 02. Does anyone know where to find this?? Should I call CC and see if they will give me one?? I am just trying to figure out what to look for under there so I don't mess anything up while I am trying to do a little mod on my ballast system. I am also curious about what all is in that black box, it has warnings on it not to open it, that makes me want to open it, but I do want to use my boat again.
Thanks in advance for any help
