2008 Ski Nautique - Bilge pump removed - water comes out of the screw holes

    Hi everybody,

I am new to this forum, and I am looking for some advise for my Ski Nautique 196 / 2008 which I bought last year.

The bilge pump was placed really close to the ski pole and it was very hard to tighten the pole. This position is not very good because the lowest point is at least 3 cm down, so there is always water in the bilge.

So I removed the pump with the screws, dried everything up and when I wanted to glue the pump to lowest point (with some sikaflex) I noticed, that there was water coming out of the old mounting holes.

Now I am a bit concerned, isn't this a structural key point?

There is a link to a photo below.

    Should I be worried?
    Can I leave this alone?

    Thank you for your suggestions!
    Friedrich

Pic link does not appear to be working? The screw holes should not be completely thru the hull so you should not be seeing water coming up. You could let everything dry completely and then fill those holes with some resin if you are truly concerned. Not sure how CC does it today but there may be wood embedded in the hull at that point to accept those screws, could it just be moisture below weeping out now that it can?

I am sorry, I posted a wrong link in the first post.
I am pretty sure that there is wood embedded, because it is thicker there. (please see picture in my second post)
