Ok so it has been years since I asked the question about what to do regarding the fact that the platform brackets keep wearing out on my SAN with a 502. A few years ago I solved the problem. Sorry been so busy I forgot to post my solution. I removed all the cross members of the platform deck and reinstalled them with space in between so the water can get through and reduce the pressure on the platform. I started out by just removing ever other cross member but then realized the space between could allow for toes and fingers to go through and get broken. That realized I replaced the cross members so the spacing was safe (not allowing fingers and toes to slip through). Doing this spacing meant that I had to trim the lengths of the cross members but it was not difficult. It now has been abut three seasons and no rattle and brackets are holding up. Simple fix to a long standing problem.
