On my 2003 SAN, the depth finder alarm is going off. It shows 2 or 3 times deeper than it actually is, and the guage says "dEEP" and beeps. I can press both errors to quiet it for a few minutes, but it is persistent. I can remove a wire to that guage, but then I lose some of my other guages like fuel and temp. I don't even get an audible noise when the engine is hot, why would there be such an annoying alarm for this irrelevant piece of info? And more importantly, how can I fix it?

I have the same issue with my 04 196. Nautique Parts told me to replace the transducer, I just received it, and probably will not be able to see if that solves the issue for a couple weeks when I get it back in the water. I sure hope it does because that alarm is one of the most annoying things. I also unplugged it and lost my other gauges, and tried to see if I could find the speaker for the alarm portion but could not. I called nautique parts to see if they knew how to wire it, to bypass the depth finder but still get the other gauges and he said the easiest to do would be to replace the transducer so hopefully they are right.
