Bluetooth Issues Ever Officially Fixed?

Almost that time of year to be out on the lake every weekend, totally forgot about what a pain in the *** our head unit was last year.... I know there have been MANY other members on here with the same issue of their touchscreen showing the audio switching between AM/Bluetooth while trying to listen to the radio. The usual list of head unit replacement, software updates, LINC touchscreen replacement basically the whole nine yards and then the dealers still saying its broken but there is no official fix.... eventually you lost all volume control and have to shut the boat down and cycle power off with battery switch to reset.

was there ever an official word on that? Did anyone actually get their units successfully fixed over the off season? Or is the only solution to pay out of pocked and upgrade to the JL head unit in the 18+

I know folks have had issues with the Polk head units but mine has been fine on my 2017 G23. Just noticed you are from Moneta. Where do you do your boating on SML? We are in the Craddock Creek area

Our G23 is on a dock in the same cove as Mangos/Moosies by bridgewater. You've probably seen us around then lol. Reef blue/black from Webster marine. I know Brian Dillon with the red and black 17 has been fine, and then we have another friend with a 16 g23 and his has the same issue and has never been fixed after multiple trips to the dealer. He was advocating on the forum last year that Nautique at least cover the labor to install the new JL and he would purchase the head unit just to fix the problem

Check out this thread which RDT-G23 started titled JL Audio Head Unit & Transom Remote Retrofit. , there may be some info that would help you if you decided to switch head units. .

Coming from a Tige that had the first year of the Polk HU, I never experienced issues with BT and know many others that had the polk in the Tige boats were issue free. Makes a person wonder if its the linc software causing the issue?

The only issue the polk had in early 15 on the Tige was the volume would freeze on it on occasion and they fixed that with an update that ran the fan more often to cool the touchscreens, but this was more of a touchscreen issue then Polk issue.

Again I have only read a little on the issues that the 16-17 model CC boats with Polk HU were having so just tossing out the idea that its software related as my Tige polk/software worked flawlessly. Perhaps their is a linc update out there or one is needed with older models?

my 2014 g21 has not had any bluetooth issues...seems ok. i have pondered doing something different to get more direct signal to the amp or something to get more updated bluetooth codec, but it is too nice working volume from linc...but so many bluetooth wireless adapters on the market these days...

It’s a compatibility issue. I’m working on one now. The UM1 is not compatible. You need the UM1A with the zone control box with the “A” at the end.
