2015 g23 shaft broke, lost prop. what prop and shaft do i need for replacement?

2015 G23 Coastal 450hp engine
1.25in shaft
i think i have the 2:1 Transmission

prop broke off with the end of the shaft after the strut. didnt see that one coming at all

1. i can replace this myself? any tricks or things i got to worry about?
2. i heard the ACME 2561 17x17 is the stock prop for this boat. im not sure what prop i had on it though. but i actually think my boat was a little under propped for my use. topped out at 40mph, and tons of low end torque even when loaded up all the way. i wouldnt mind a bit better fuel economy by putting a larger prop (or more pitch) on and dropping the RPMs some.
3. what shaft do i need?

any advice would be appreciated!!

Somewhat common problem. Assuming you're the original owner, or transferred the warranty if you're not, this will be covered under warranty.

thanks. unfortunately warranty is expired due to hours on boat (600 hrs). warranty was for 5 years or 500 hours.

Contact your dealer anyway and have them submit a claim with Nautique. They will most likely warranty it out anyway.

Yes due to numerous other issues in this same regard with Nautique shafts , I would let your dealer know.
I bet Nautique will cover this under warranty

I agree with GMLIII above. Definitely speak to your dealer. I think at minimum if you are a bit forceful you will get free parts, maybe not labor.

The guy that owned my boat before me paid below pictured $476. See pic for steps shop used...Probably not too bad a job to do.

I called the main dealership in Orlando, and they are going to warranty the parts and 3.5hrs of labor. Amazing!!! I guess this is how Nautique makes lifelong customers. thanks a lot guys, i never would have thought to even ask for a warranty repair at all since the warranty was expired. i was going to try to fix it myself as usual, haha. Now im treating myself and friends to universal studios while im in orlando with all the money i just saved.

Fantastic! Actually, I'm not terribly surprised since Nautique has been dealing with this problem for a while. They did improve the driveshafts so you shouldn't have this problem again.

Charles, tell more...What info do you have on the improvements. Can you share? When and what was improved. It would be nice to know if mine was "improved". You are aware that a couple people are on 3rd shaft...

As it became apparent that this problem extended over several years, Nautique brought in a different vendor to manufacture the drive shafts. I'm not exactly sure when they switched over, but that did solve the problem. I asked about this at the boat show this past winter and that was what I got from the factory rep. He didn't elaborate further.
