    Intermittant smartpod switches

We bought a new to us 2000 SAN last year (thanks to everyone on this forum who helped with our purchase) and have been having a good time with it. The only real problem I have, and it's pretty small, is the smart pod switches for raising and lowering the rear deck seem intermittant. Is it unusual for these to fail in a 6 year old boat with ~650 hours? How hard and how expensive is it to install a new smartpod? Has anyone ever just scrapped the electric actuator and replaced it with a really strong gas spring or two?

    Thanks

mine does the same thing. do you here the relays clicking when you push the button? if so it is not the pad. my problem was with the wires going into the motor itself. i just wiggled them and it has been working fine .
