    Engine replacement 04' PCM 330

Took the boat out today, after chaos on the lake we realized 2 freeze plugs had popped out. I dont know how bad it is yet but I might as well prepare for the worse. If my block is cracked, what would be the cost to get something like that fixed. Its a 2004 air nautique sv211 with the 330 pcm excalibur. Thanks for the help

Ouch sorry to hear. Any recourse with who did the winterizing? Have you got insurance? Would you be doing any of the work or would you have it done? Check your oil now to see if it's clean. Many times with a dealer they will just put in a new bobtail, with labor rates being what they are, removing, testing and reinstalling parts adds up fast. Going to run into a short season and busy dealers too. If your oil is clean right now you could install a couple of of those rubber expandable freeze plugs and run it. If your oil does not look like a chocolate shake, you dodged the bullet.
Worse case just for the engine- http://www.skidim.com/57L-EX-343-LH-...ductinfo/1630/

Check your oil. If it looks ok, maybe compression test next. Best case, you just need freeze plugs. I once had to put one in after a bad winter.

Thanks for the help guys. This was a huge mistake on my end. I just bought this boat a month or two ago. It was a private sale on craigslist. He said he kept it in a heated shop and blah blah. This is my first in board and I guess I just didnt inspect it good enough. I ordered a fake a lake so I can check it. Being a buy oncraigslist, I can't really sue the previous owner can I? I have texts from them saying everything is in working order,

Hello, did you end up replacing the damper plate when you replaced the engine? I am in the process of changing my engine because I failed to winterize my boat properly this winter. My damper plate looks good, has springs are not loose and the center nut / spline / teeth are in good shape and are not loose in any way.

Considering how much work it was to get to this point I wondering if this is one of those things you are supposed to change every time you have access to it. It is about $300 + tax and shipping.
