02 210TE Wiring......For the love of all things proper...

So I spent a few hours going over the 02 SANTE trying to find the ballast control wires and see where they split. I managed to match the 2001 40 pin harness wiring diagram and found the two control wires. I had very little luck finding the splicing points, especially for the belly tank, they are tucked way in there in the main raceway back to the engine. The other splice points are buried behind the eninge I am screwed as far as doing this in a simple manner, looks like I would need to rewire the whole thing.

I would like to find the points where they junction so I can wire in independent ballast control. Basically the idea is to still use the dashpod controls as main on/off switches and then put in some rocker or toggles to control each aerator pump individually.

So I did find the two main wires coming from the 40 pin harness, they are orange/red & orange/yellow. Does anyone know if these wires are thick enough to handle the power for all three pumps simultaneously?? I may try to tap them at the dash into a switch panel and run new power wires to all the pumps.

Has anyone done this ballast modification to their 02?? I would really like the ability to tune the wake and empty tanks for surfing.

Could there be a bigger mess than what CC did under the 210 kick panel?? What a nightmare!! Looks like they just get in there with zipties and and tape and jam everything together. Ugh. There is alot of waste in there, they could have mounted amps and put a sub in there if they had some ambition to do things clean under there.

Can't help too much with the wiring, but the kick panel is an IDEAL place to mount the sub. I moved mine to that location, and it really opens up the storage under the clamshell seat.

Hey 01, was that a soundillusions install?? What are those three switches under the pod on the dash??

I may just have to try and mount my crappy little sub like Jeff did. Bringing it out of the clamshell will help it sound better for sure, right now it's behind a bunch of lifevests and a toolkit, all you really do is hear it rattling down in there I don't think I am up for rewiring and reorganizing the entire electrical under the dash right now.

I have decided to rewire the whole ballast system and insert some rocker switches, a new breaker with direct power, and a relay that will be wired to the lead coming from the black box. That way, I will power it up with the pod as a main switch and then have three rockers like all subsequent years. This is at Grant's suggestion, he seems to know when it's time to give up on CC's wiring and start from scratch.

Flux- Yes it is a Sound Illusions install, they do such quality work it should be against the law, as for the three switches on the dash they are for some tower lights that used to be on the tower that I took off, unfortunately whoever mounted the switches put some nice holes in the dash so I just kept them there.

I wish I had the $$ and the time to drag my boat up to those guys. Everything I have seen from them is amazing. I have to give grant much props for all the knowledge he has shared with the wakeboard community, I probably owe him a couple cases of beer at least just for his input on the forums that has helped me figure stuff out. I would love to be able to pay them for their time, unfortunately I cannot, have to DIY it all.

Flux - Grant and Clay are awesome guys, I knew them both before I had my system done so when it came time to pull the trigger on a monster system it was a no brainer on where to go, guess I am fortunate to live close to the bling factory. Your boat looks pretty insane as well, just something about black boats that draw attention. This is my buddies all black team with the Python 502 in it, this thing sounds like a dragster when he fires it up.

It's the evil twin!!! Nothing better than an all black 210, nothing harder to keep shiny though!! I seriously would not trade it for anything else though. Grant's all red is a beauty too. ****, I just love 210's

We were extremely fortunate to find that boat, and actually get our hands on it. I drove through a really bad rain storm for 4 hours to get it. The seller was being fair, first come, first serve. He fired it up and it was a deal. I co-own it with one of my best friends, it has worked out very well for both of us, neither could have afforded it on our own. Once you have one of these, I think you will never not be able to afford one though.

Ours needs some upgrading and that's where I am at. We were gonna go after the stereo, but I think I may get after the ballast upgrade first. Better to have massive wake with stock tunes than massive tunes and stock wake. I am gonna rewire the whole deal and maybe get some custom Pro-X ballast bags made, hopefully 500 each side. One day we will get it all together for sure. I will check through your galleries again, and drool, and dream.

Does yours have the 502 in it?

I know what you mean I drove to Riverside and bought mine from CCC and that is about a 6 hour drive for me, no rain storm though.

No 502, got the Excalibur. There was another one like your buddy's on here, the dude had Antlers on the tower.

I have not wanted for power, we recently got a 644 prop for it and it does much nicer on the hole shot.
