2004 211SV Team Edition Low Voltage Alarm

Hi, I have a 2004 211 with a Voltage issue. First it is giving an intermittent low voltage alarm. I have checked the output of the alternator and it is at 14V constant. Voltage will go low for a while then bounce back to 13.8 on the gauge then it will drop again. There are also 2 brand new batteries in the boat both reading good. Bad Gauge? Any help would be great.

Following. I think I’m having the same issue as you. I think it’s the wire size from the battery to the pme box.

Thanks, Not sure what the PME box is. Is that where the main ECM is located? I have a perko switch with 2 batteries and the cable is a pretty large gauge. After digging around last night too I read it could be a grounding issue also. Will try to dig into it this weekend.

Pme box is the breaker box under the dash. Let me know what you come up with! I’ll do the same!

I had a similar issue on my 2005 Sport 216. After some reading here found that the wires to the breaker box were undersized for that era of boats, so I replaced both the positive and negative ones with larger new wires and that solved my issue.

What gauge wire did you use?

I used 8ga wire. The positive wire went from battery to the master on/off switch and then to the breaker box, and the ground went right to the breaker box. I also installed a relay for the perfect pass power and ran new wires (16ga) for the main power as PP seems to be pretty power hungry. After that I saw less than a 1V drop between alternator/battery and the volt gauge on the dash and the PP volt display.... so no more low voltage alarms.

My ‘05 SV211 was giving me a low voltage warning and the shop determined that it was a faulty alternator. Your results may vary.
