I have a 1990 Ski Nautique with a 351w pcm. When I bought ir, it was already converted to a prestolite electronic ignitio. After putting a new carb on I took it out to run it some and it ran beautiful for about a hr and a half then just cut out. The marina called and told me that the distributor gear had been sheared off. I’m not sure what would cause that or how Togo about getting the metal shavings out. Or how much damage it could have caused . If anyone has experience with thisim all ears. Beginning to think I shouldd just resell the boat and start over but I would like to not have to do that
