    LINC screen flickering issues

Has anyone here has had any issue with their LINC screen flickering? My 2014 230 (362 hrs) has started to do this occasionally. Not impacting any functionality and the screen never flickers off. Mainly wondering if this is a symptom of a bigger issue i may have in the future with my LINC display.

Started noticing it last year mainly when the display had been on for over several hours. So far this season seems to be happening a bit more. Typically if i shut it down and reboot it fix the issue, at least for a certain period of time.

    Thanks, Scott

Certainly not normal and like anything else with boats, it won't get better on its own. Schedule a slot with your mechanic and get it resolved...

Especially so^^ if you are nearing end of warranty period. I would have that checked out and ask for a software update at same time

It's sounds to me like you might need a software update. And always shutdown the computer (code and stop button) before turning off the batteries. My 2015 Linc has its minor hiccups ONLY when it's been on for way too long and if I forget to shut down. My guess is these things arent built with enough ram.

Thanks for the comments. I’m not under warranty and unfortunately closest dealer is 3 hrs. So trying to figure out if I just let it go for now until I have a bigger issue or if there was any troubleshooting I can do on my own.. I’m pretty careful with the proper shutdown and start up of the system so I don’t think that’s a factor. Definitely seems to get worse the longer I’ve had the Linc display on. Never happens upon startup but flickering can get fairly bad a few hours into the day and then comes and goes for the remainder. Really don’t want to have to replace it but I don’t think it’s a software issue.

With that explanation, it may not be software...but Nautique should be able to email you a software update (good to have the most recent release anyway)....then you can download it to a new USB thumbdrive and update your system. You do not need the dealer to do that, you just need the dealer code, which is easily gotten as well.

One other thot, are you batteries original? The issue could also be battery related as low batteries will cause that for sure. Little strange that it does not always do it, if that were in fact the issue, but stranger things have happened and worth checking into. If you have maintainer/charger (smart one) on the batteries when boat is not in use and you always shut off the switch, they will last a lot longer, but getting 4-5yrs out of wet cell batteries is pretty much tops for boats. Just something else to check into and consider.

Check all the connections/ground to the screen for corrosion, could be another possibility...

Ok good to know. I do happen to have a dealer code and may see if I can get a software update sent to me. On the batteries, I’m actually due to replace as I have original batteries on my 2014. I keep the charger on them but like you said probably 4-5 years is pushing. I may start with that see since they need replacing anyways. Thanks.
