Ive found my angles using the Pro Angle app. At speed (32 mph) we are resting around 13 degrees of list towards starboard side. This is with 250 pounds ballast in the port tank and 250lbs ballast in belly. For some reason adding to the belly has helped almost more than adding to the port side.

Ive been dabbling with the idea of just getting a dedicated ski boat at this point and a getting a g23 for surf and wake. Im sure the wife would love that!
I would agree 100% with your thought process . My prior boat, 2001 Sport Nautique was a crossover boat and although you could run the slalom course behind it; it was far from ideal. I alway found myself bumming slalom sets from other folks who had a dedicated ski boats. After I quit slalom skiing, I told myself I would never own another crossover boat again and purchase a boat designed for the water sports our family still enjoys which are wakeboarding and surfing .

Let the Bashing begin, with my bias against crossover or tweener boats

Well not going to bash but I do own a Ski Nautique 196 and the GS22. I looked at buying a G23 to go with my Ski Nautique, but after comparing the overall characteristics of both the GS and the G we went with the GS. We keep both boats pretty busy. I think if I was going from the Ski N to the G it would be like driving a sports car one minute and a school bus the next. The GS is not a small boat by any means but it handles very well. Are there some qwerks? yes there are. But after spending considerable time now in a G, there are some qwerks there also. It is nice to ski behind the GS and any non tournament skier loves it! I certainly perfer the ski nautique for slalom- I love that TSC1 and dont ever see getting rid of it. We put about 60 hours on the GS22 last summer and about the same on the Ski N. Bottom line is after skiing, surfing, and wakeboarding we couldnt see the need to give up drivebility and overall manageability at more cost just to have a G.

Agreed the G is like driving a school bus after coming off of my 1984 Ski N and 2001 Sport Nautique but I don’t ski anymore so hence a specialized boat such as the G. I guess what I’m trying to say is if you still want to slalom to some degree of performance, you need a ski specific boat such as a Ski Nautique and a 2nd boat would be required to perform wake boarding and surfing. Glad you are able to have 2 difference tow boats

Fortunately we have room for both boats. Something to consider is that you can buy a bubble butt Ski N for about the same as the stern thruster option on a new G23 or G25. The costs of the GS22 and the 98 Ski Nautique together is considerably less than a G23.
