we were out on the lake yesterday and the port ballast would not fill. The boat has the reversible jabsco pumps. The pump gets power and you can hear a faint hum almost like the noise a garbage disposal makes when its jammed and turned on... the breaker never tripped and it was running a few minutes before i noticed no filling was happening. i ordered a new green impeller from wakemakers to trouble shoot . The lake has been pretty bad with hydrilla and floating debris from the boats chopping it up.. i checked the intake at the bottom and didnt find any obstructions, Has anyone experienced a similar hum but no fill? thanks (22 hours run time into my first inboard ownership experience) still have
alot to learn

I have aerator pumps so not as familiar, but can you run without the cover on momentarily and see the impeller spinning? Maybe motor or bearings are going out..

I haven’t had that problem, but I’ve taken one completely appart. Change the connector to another pump first and see if it runs. If it does, take it off and remove impeller and test it on a bench. You should be able to determine if it’s fixable or not. Worse case you have it off and can replace it. I have a 2007 sv211 with the same pumps. Just replaced a 20 amp breaker to repair belly ballast
