After pulling my new to me 2002 SANTE out after the winter, the engine was overheating and the bilge filled with water. I got a tow back to the launch. The mechanic tells me the impeller was broken (why it was overheating) and after fixing that, I find out the heat exchanger is cracked (source of the water).
The impeller was old (so he tells me). This is the same place that did the winterization. Could the problem with the heat exchanger be from doing a ****ty job winterizing?
The mechanic is telling me that the heat exchanger for a PCM 5.8l is special and takes 12 days to get. I’m in Canada so that is pretty much the summer holiday shot.
Does anyone know a good parts source in Canada? I’ve been burning up the internet trying to find a heat exchanger.
