How screwed are we?

My Dad decided to take our 2005 SV211 out for a joy ride and he forgot to put the plug in. He realized this after being on the water for a few minutes, got the plug back in and got the boat back to the lift safely. Not being there, I have no idea how much water got in the boat and the engine compartment. Boat has been at the shop for a week and we are still waiting to hear how bad it is.....they did say there was a lot of water in the gas and the injectors has water in them. Anybody been down this road before? How screwed are we???

Hard to say without knowing how high the water got. Luckily it sounds like it was discovered quickly and addressed quickly as well. Hopefully it won't be too bad. I hope they immediately changed all of the fluids.

Good that is was caught quickly. We had this happen a few years back and had water up to the floorboards. No engine issues as a result of it, so hopefully this will work out for you.

i wouldn't think that would have caused any problem - did you drain it out when back on the lift ?

I had a friend drop a Supreme I owned into the water to borrow the trailer and he put the center plug in and forgot the rear. The whole thing went down with a 6 hour soaking. We pulled the boat and had it pickled immediately and the mechanic had it running the next day. Even though the fuel tank was drained I collected a lot of water in the separator for the next few tanks. The good news was after another 200 hours before I sold it, the boat never ran better. Go figure. You just never know.
