i have an 01 SAN with push button ingition and lately it has been rarerly working. It takes about 5-10 pushes of the button and sometimes it wont even turn over. The gauges have also faded so I decided to clean up the battery terminals with a wire brush because there is a yellow film that has coated around them. After that it still is doing the same thing and has not gotten any better. The battery is also good. Any ideas?

Your dealer has a Faria upgrade kit for around 250.00. Here is what it looks like http://www.planetnautique.com/index....ighlight=faria I agree with the relay you should start there as it is relatively inexpensiveNautiqueless in San Diego

Thanks for all the replies. I will definitly check out those gauges and as far as the starter goes I will check all connections again and look at the key pad. I actually have already gone through a starter in the second year I had the boat and had the dealer replace it under warrenty. It seems that the key pad has always been a problem with it. As soon as I press the button I can hear the starter click and thats about it. Anybody have problems with their keypad doing this?

The click you hear isn't the starter but the relay that brings the current from the battery to the starter. It is a grey or black piece that has 2 red cables on opposite ends and 1 or 2 smaller wires coming off of it. If it is clicking there may be an internal short. They are about 30.00 and easy to replace. The key pad is 300.00. If you are going to replace one to see if that fixes the problem which one would you chose first?Nautiqueless in San Diego
