Service for vintage Nautiques in North Carolina

Hello all,

I have a 1978 Ski Nautique, and was wondering if any of you might know of any places in North Carolina or even South Carolina that service vintage Nautiques? We're in the Charlotte area but I'm willing to take it a ways to someone who knows what they're doing.

The local Nautique dealer isn't interested in vintage boats as their mechanics don't have the knowledge to work on them.

In the nearly 30 years we've had it this is only the second time anything big enough I couldn't fix it myself has broken. In this case it needs a fuel pump.

If you are interested in doing it yourself once you confirm it is a fuel pump, call Discount Inboard Marine. They have every part you need and great technical support. Changing that mechanical fuel pump is an easy task. You just need to know if you have a Ford or Chevy motor. In '78, there was a Ford Commander and Ford PCM. If you are not sure, Discount Inboard Marine can help you identify.

If I were closer, I would offer to help. I had a 1979 Ski Nautique years ago.

I would contact Whitelake (Nautiqueparts). They have a restored boat (first one sold out of the dealership I believe) so if they can’t or won’t do it I would imagine they can point you in the right direction.

Hey Jeff, I'm in Charlotte. I'm letting the Mastercraft place in Mooresville have a look at it right now, they said they have a good mechanic for vintage boats.
