    Stiff/Sticky Throttle 2002 Ski206

The throttle on my 2002 Ski206 just keeps getting stiffer and stickier to advance. It moves into gear easily enough, but then is just plain hard to push. Perfect Pass is working fine and I find no kinks in the cable or other obvious issues. It is getting bad enough that it feels like I am risking a broken cable soon. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how did you fix it? Is there an accepted place to grease this system?

Did you disconnect the throttle cable from the mount on the throttle body and actuate the control? Is it the cable going bad or something mechanically wrong with the throttle body? You need to troubleshoot a bit further.

Per Skidave, you need to isolate the problem first. It could be the throttle control, the cable, or the throttle body. Disconnecting at the engine will confirm or rule out the throttle body, and disconnecting at the throttle control will confirm or rule out the handle and tell you if the cable is the problem or not. You can lubricate the cable somewhat, but if it's corroded inside the sheath, you'll only be bandaiding it, and it will return fairly quickly.
