2000 Pro Air Nautique - Front bilge pump FAIL

So I purchased a 2000 Pro Air Nautique a couple months back and after extensive overhall on the fuel & cooling systems, I have been able to take it out a couple times without any issue. However last weekend I started noticing that the front bilge pump was not turning on when I hit the button on the keypad (rear pump would turn on for a few seconds, then off).

I looked under the dash at the breaker and noticed that the switch for the bilge was sticking out so I pushed it in, then tried the bilge button again on the dash, this time it would turn on both pumps for a couple seconds, then off, at which point I would check the bilge pump breaker and noticed it was sticking out again. Ok so I have a short I thought.

I then proceeded to flip the bilge override switch that's under the dash, and both bilge pumps turned on for about 30 seconds, then the front turned off and I was not able to get it to come back on with either the keypad or the override switch.

So do I have a bad bilge pump? Or is there a short in the wiring? I'm not sure at this point, any thoughts?

Could be a short....bad ground...or pump going bad. Have you removed and checked it? Could just need a good cleaning and may be something partially clogging it. You can remove and direct wire to a battery to see if its working but they are pretty easy to replace and not that expensive, bilge is something that you want working cause if you end up really needing it, you wont want it crapping out on you.

Agreed. Could be many things. You need to do some troubleshooting and fault isolation. Swap the pumps. Get one new pump and put it in. See if that changes anything. If not, pull it and put it in the other location. Get a voltmeter and do some testing on the leads.
