    Ethanol pcm req

I read in the PCM engines manual that 10% - E10 - is the maximum reccomended ethanol add to the gasoline. I live in a country where the law states 25% minimum of ethanol in the gasoline. Is it a deal breaker?

25% is a lot. Is there any access to non-ethanol fuel?

25% ethenol blend....that must really gunk up your engines!! How the heck do you keep anything running?
In my opinion, that would be a deal breaker. While engine may handle it for little while, it cant be good and I would think that it will start issues with engine especially over layup time.
I dont know enough about ethenol on scientific level to say this for sure...just guessing since I have seen it mess up all small engines and I only run ethenol free fuel in mower, chainsaw, etc...and of course my boat.

Tks for the replies. No ethanol free in my country. I had axis, Malibu and mc - wondering how the engines survived. It is the law in my country for among other reasons pollute less.....catch 22

OP call PCM and ask the engine guys which one they believe would run best on e25. i'm betting the H6, i believe it's direct injection.

I emailed them. They simply said if ethanol 10% ratio is surpassed the guarantee is lost

Have you tried a general aviation airport? I've never heard of Avgas containing ethanol.

that'd be a **** of a time commitment just to get fuel to run your boat for most people.

OP so here is my thoughts. one of these blocks is bound to have an automotive equivalent that runs e85. perhaps you can get a flexfuel fuel system and retrofit it in your boat. if it can run e85 it should run e25 no problem. im not sure of the specifics, but typically the flex fuel motors are found in GM trucks and SUVs have high capacity injectors, and different fuel pumps and supply hoses that are safe with e85. A boat fuel system is not very long or complex.

But it has lead in it. I ran it in a lot of my pre catalytic converter boats. Can't do it on new stuff though.
