For the 3rd week in a row our boat has died in the middle of the lake while surfing and I’m hoping that someone has experienced a similar issue. We bought the boat last fall, and now has around 270hrs.
The only issues we have had to this point had been solved by switching the batteries off and performing the standard wait between booting steps. The first real problem we had was after a normal day of a 10-15 minute ride to our party cove, lounging while listening to music for several hours. The boat started fine so on the way back we always surf. Third rider in the boat died and the screen blacks out. I try the battery trick but no thing happens except a single blink on the start button.
I call a buddy and just I figure the batteries are dead since they are original. While he is pulling the battery out of his boat I try my other battery one more time and it works. Attributing my issue to just one dead battery the next week we use the other one while waiting for new ones to arrive.
We do our normal routine and on the way back while surfing the screen blacks out again but the boat stays running. Of coarse I had full ballast so we head back in and I end up pulling the keypad loose to get the boat to shutoff... didn’t think to use the kill switch, duh.
Pulled the boat on the trailer and just far enough out of the water to pull the hoses and drain the ballast into the bilge. Took 40 minutes to drain just FYI.
Still hoping it’s a battery issue but not so sure. New batteries come in so I swap them out. Follow our normal routine again and I’m surfing back when the boat dies after 10 minutes. I ended up pulling the screen and unplugged the connectors to get it to reboot.
It’s a 2 hour trip to the closest dealer but not sure if there is anything I should test before making that trip.
