'05 SV 211 Temporary no start issue. Ballast related?

Had more than 1/4 tank of gas, filled hard ballast tanks and two 350lb. bags in each rear locker and then the boat wouldn't start. Cranked and cranked but wouldn't fire. Emptied all ballast (to get ready for the tow) and 15 minutes later engine started right up. Added another 20 gallons of gas and no more problems the rest of the day. Is the fuel pick-up really, really sensitive to a lot of weight in the rear or am I barking up the wrong tree with the weight hypo? Simple hot start/fuel vaporization issue instead?

I doubt that it was a back heavy fuel pickup issue. On Saturday, we were out and it warned me that we had low fuel. We surfed for another 20 min or so and then headed in. Each time the the bow raised the fuel gauge went up and the warning turn off. I think you need to keep looking at another potential cause.

Thank you. I figured the ballast and the no start issue were coincidental.
