high oil pressure/engine dies

Hi everyone,

My first post!

I have a 91' Nautique and notice the oil pressure gauge is reading way up at 80 kp.

Also, it can be running smoothly and suddenly just cut out as if I turned off the ignition. My first thought is the Pro-tec safeguard system picking up on something and I'm wondering if it is related to the high oil pressure.

Lots of good reading here in the forums for trying to diagnose problems but you sure can get lost in it!

Ideas anyone?

In searching around other posts, it looks like the engine cutting out could be an electrical or fuel problem. As for the high pressure reading, it might just be the gauge.

Any details or more specific ideas would be greatly appreciated.
